Two members of royalty in the music world have collided for a great cause. Queen Bey and the Queen Diva, Big Freedia, have joined on Beyonce’s latest video release, “Formation”. Beyonce surprises the Bey Hive once again with an epic drop of her latest release “Formation”. The music video was put out on Saturday, February 6 via YouTube.
Beyonce adds some real gutta flava on this track with features of bounce artists Big Freedia and Messy Mya. The Bounce Music along with the country girl feel is just righttt! There are multiple cameo’s from Blue Ivy throughout the visual displaying her iconic natural fro that the media tries to downplay so often. Beyonce speaks on the hair type of black women as well as other beauties of the African-American culture in lyrics such as, “I like my baby hair, with baby hair, and afros”. Right in time for Black History Month Bey!
The New Orleans feel is the perfect twist for “Formation” as Beyonce is part Creole, which originates in the state of Louisiana. Beyonce pays major homage to her roots in this track by embracing the culture of New Iberia, Louisiana. Fuse TV star, Big Freedia of TV series Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, speaks with Fuse TV on his experience working with Beyonce,“It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I was beyond honored to work with the original Queen B.”
The message being portrayed behind the lyrics in “Formation” seem to describe the wealthy lifestyle Queen Bey lives as she also addresses the rumors her haters spread about her ‘being a part of the illuminati.’ The bragging of wealth continues throughout “Formation” as Beyonce states, “You just might be a Black Bill Gates in the making, cause I slay, I just might be a Black Bill Gates in the making.”
In case you missed it, last week Big Sean dropped the video of the year with his Play No Games visual. The video pays homage to Martin Lawrence’s 1990′s hit television series Martin. Like guys why couldn’t I think of this! Ha!
Chris Brown plays the role of Cole as he belts out the chorus while an imitation Pam, Tommy and Gina gives the video a more realistic feel. Ty Dolla Sign briefly pops up during the intro and fellow rapper French Montana made a quick cameo as well.
It was nice to see other Martin characters such as Roscoe and Bruh Man come back to life and even nicer to get a quick glimpse of the person who popped up at the very end.
See below to get into the visual and to see Big Sean’s surprise guest:
Jhene Aiko reflects on a near death experience in her latest visual Eternal Sunshine. Jhene floats in front of what appears to be the aftermath of a car crash she had back in 2013 with her daughter, her daughter’s father O’Ryan and her sister Miyoko. Flashback visuals of her brother Miyagi who died of cancer just a year prior to the accident played back in her head as she reminisced on all the good times they shared.
Kendrick Lamar takes us into the hood of Compton in his latest video King Kunta. The video could’ve been a scene out of Boyz In The Hood with its pimped out low riders, LA fitted caps and beautiful women such as Lira Galore and Briana Bette.
Yesterday K. Dot debuted his video on the Jumbatron in New York City’s Times Square. Aside from that great marketing tactic, it appears that his How To Pimp A Butterfly album is still charting No. 1 on Billboard.
Watch Kendrick sit on his the throne in the video below.
Rae Sremmurd had plenty of money to toss around in his latest visual Throw Some Mo’ ft. Nicki Minaj and Young Thug.
Throughout the visual dancers gave the rappers inspiration to throw some mo as they twirled around stripper poles on a L.A. skating rink floor. And when they were finished with the twerk fest that took place in the locker room, the head barb stepped in and stole the show rocking a hot pink Versace fur.
Birdman and Mike Will Made It joined Thugga Thugga in the parking lot towards the end.
Remember that little ballerina that spun around when you would open your jewelry box as a child? Well Ciara has brought baby girl to life in her new break up video I Bet.
Sucks that we’re writing about this. Just a year ago Ciara and Future had become one of our favorite couples. Now the singer is sending her ex fiance a friendly reminder of what he’s missing out on in a series of ballet moves and slow dances. Ciara displays melancholy while draped in a pink tu tu but don’t get it twisted that white leotard is coming with a whole lot of sass!
Well what are you waiting for? Check out Ci Ci’s new visual below.
In case you missed it, Big Sean has brought in fellow G.O.O.D. music label mates Teyana Taylor and Kanye West for his new video I Don’t Fu-k With You. The video is a depiction of his former relationship with Glee actress Naya Rivera.
Sean plays as the star quarterback in the video. Flashbacks of his ex girl cheating on him almost knocked Sean off his A-Game. Luckily, Kanye was able to get Sean’s head back in the game coach the team back to victory. Meanwhile Teyana and her pom poms sent cheers from the sidelines. E-40 makes a cameo as well.
K. Michelle is definitely working. Last night the singers new reality show debuted on VH1 reaching 2.1 million viewers. As if her television series wasn’t enough, hours later K released her brand new video for Love Em All, landing over a million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours.
K gave us an eye full as she danced around male mannequins in a two-piece body hugging ensemble embellished with sparkling crystals. She sang about not loving men but instead using one to get over the last. Fellas you might wanna’ stay away from this heart breaker.
If Erykah Badu isn’t kissing and crashing the set of a news reporter then she might be in the streets of NYC singing for change. In the hilarious visual that Erica recorded with her Iphone you’ll see the singer in the middle of Times Square begging folks for their money through a soulful tune that she made up. Whenever someone went in their purse or pockets she would mock what they were doing, and even if you didn’t have it to give she would imitate that too. She told one guy she didn’t have a job and needed some money and his response was he doesn’t have one either. LOL.
Even though Erykah admits that singing in the streets for money isn’t easy and only made $3.60 she sure did make it look fun. Gotta’ love this chick.
