Ladies – line up!
Two members of royalty in the music world have collided for a great cause. Queen Bey and the Queen Diva, Big Freedia, have joined on Beyonce’s latest video release, “Formation”. Beyonce surprises the Bey Hive once again with an epic drop of her latest release “Formation”. The music video was put out on Saturday, February 6 via YouTube.
Beyonce adds some real gutta flava on this track with features of bounce artists Big Freedia and Messy Mya. The Bounce Music along with the country girl feel is just righttt! There are multiple cameo’s from Blue Ivy throughout the visual displaying her iconic natural fro that the media tries to downplay so often. Beyonce speaks on the hair type of black women as well as other beauties of the African-American culture in lyrics such as, “I like my baby hair, with baby hair, and afros”. Right in time for Black History Month Bey!
The New Orleans feel is the perfect twist for “Formation” as Beyonce is part Creole, which originates in the state of Louisiana. Beyonce pays major homage to her roots in this track by embracing the culture of New Iberia, Louisiana. Fuse TV star, Big Freedia of TV series Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, speaks with Fuse TV on his experience working with Beyonce, “It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I was beyond honored to work with the original Queen B.”
The message being portrayed behind the lyrics in “Formation” seem to describe the wealthy lifestyle Queen Bey lives as she also addresses the rumors her haters spread about her ‘being a part of the illuminati.’ The bragging of wealth continues throughout “Formation” as Beyonce states, “You just might be a Black Bill Gates in the making, cause I slay, I just might be a Black Bill Gates in the making.”
