Contrary to the fact that Rich Homie Quan had Biggie Small fans flared up in outrage last night after his VH1 Hip Hop Honors tribute with Lil Kim, Biggie’s ex-wife Faith Evans is still defending him. After the rapper choked up on stage and forgot the lyrics to Biggie’s verse on Junior Mafia’s 90’s hit Get Money, TMZ reached out to Faith to get her take on it and this is what she had to say:

He needs to bone up on hip hop history.

See more below.

TMZ states, “It started when RHQ rapped “Play Nintendo with Cease and Alamo” … instead of “with Cease and Nino” — and it all went downhill from there.”

Faith says if RHQ had a clue about Junior M.A.F.I.A. members Lil’ Cease and Nino Brown … he wouldn’t have screwed up that lyric.

Still, Biggie’s ex-wife thinks people should let Quan off the hook because everyone makes mistakes.

Well that was really nice of Faith!

Performers make mistakes all the time, don’t act like you’ve never seen the Star Spangled Banner get screwed up! Better luck next time Rich Homie!

Catch the performance below.
