Sadly we live in a world where acts of senseless violence continue to plague our communities. On Friday Dwyane Wade’s 32 year old cousin Nykea Aldridge was fatally shot and murdered while pushing a baby stroller in Chicago’s Parkway Gardens. Aldridge was clearly at the wrong place at the wrong time, when two men began to open fire hitting her in the head and arm. Although she was not the initial target she was later pronounced dead at the hospital, and now four kids will forever live without their mother.
My cousin was killed today in Chicago. Another act of senseless gun violence, four kids lost their mom for NO REASON. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough. The city of Chicago is hurting. We need more help and more hands on deck. Not for me and my family but for the future of our world. The YOUTH!
This is something that didn’t start today, this is something that isn’t going to end tomorrow, hopefully, eventually, we can stop it.
Wade expressed his frustration through twitter as the world and NBA fans shared their condolences with sentimental posts to the Chicago Bulls player. With the sudden lost of his cousin you would’ve thought the living nightmare ended there. Unfortunately emotional intelligence is something Trump has lacked since the beginning of his political run for office.
Dwyane Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African Americans will VOTE TRUMP!
Trump tweeted. After Trump’s distasteful tweet twitter was filled with so much outrage leaving hateful comments on his page, which initiated Trump later apologizing for his comment tweeting,
My condolences to Dwyane Wade and his family, on the loss of Nykea Aldridge. They are in my thoughts and prayers.
Don’t forget the GOP nominee publicly discriminated African American voters last week during one of his rallies saying,
Look how much African American communities are suffering under Democratic control. To those I say the following, what do you have to lose by trying something new, like Trump? You’re living in poverty. Your schools are no good. You have no jobs. Fifty eight percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?
