From getting engaged to football star Russell Wilson, to preparing to host the Billboard Music Awards, 2016 has definitely started off well for R&B sensation Ciara. Ci-Ci stunned for her first ever ESSENCE Magazine cover shoot looking like springtime in a low cut floral jumpsuit accompanied by a glowing smile.

After years of career highs and lows, the newly engaged mom and “I Bet” singer opened up about her personal life including fame, happiness, and finding love, making it clear that she couldn’t be in a happier place right now.

The issue hits newsstands April 15th, but for now check out a few highlights from the story below.

On her dream of having a family:

I’d always wanted to have my own family. And my pregnancy was planned when I was at a point in my life when I was finally ready to take on the responsibility.

On her very public break-up with then fiancé Future:

That wasn’t necessarily part of my vision. But the moment I realized I was going to be a single mother, I had to reflect and reorganize my thoughts. I decided to trust that God had a plan for me, and move forward one day at a time.

On finding new love with Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson:

I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me. I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.

In other news….

Ciara has teamed up with her former hit making partner-in-crime, Ludacris, to host the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. The two stopped by ABC’s Good Morning America to announce the nominees, but while announcing the Top Rap Artist category the singer refused to mention a certain popular rapper’s name.

Shade or nah?

Check out the awkward announcement and a few pics from their GMA visit below.
