Kendrick Lamar had every social network in a frenzy last night when he dropped his verse on Big Sean’s new track Control. The song features Jay Electronica as well but Kendrick was the most talked about rapper on the record. On the track the California native rapper gets cocky when he claims to be the king of NY and then sends out a fair warning to all of his rapper friends. Kendrick rap lyrics like:
I’m usually homeboys with the same niggas I’m rhyming with,
But this is hip hop and them ni–as should know what time it is.
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big Krit, Wale,
Pusha T, A$AP Rocky… Drake,
Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller,
I got love for all you but
I’m tryna murder you ni–as.
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you ni–as.
They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you ni–as.
Yikes. This verse even had celebrities reacting via twitter. See what was said below.
Joe Budden: @kendricklamar u my ni–a for life bro… But u gon learn today
Lebron James: This is real hip hop at his best! @kendricklamar boxed em into a corner. We going crazy over here people!!
Bun B: Every rapper is supposed to feel like Kendrick feels as far as wanting to murder ni–as on the mic. That’s why I wrote my “Murder” verse.
Big K.R.I.T.: “This is Gladiator Shi-”…Gotta give the people what they want.
Big Sean: @kendricklamar so mad on that song ha ha… Sheesh @JayElectronica on there like a scientist! Thanks u rappin as- ni–as
Pusha T: I hear u loud and clear my ni–a… @kendricklamar
Listen to the record below.
I agree with Bun B. and Kendrick Lamar 100%. If you don’t feel like the you are the best at what you are doing than you probably shouldn’t be doing it. Whatever it is that you do know that you are the best at it, see no competition and dominate it!
