Two members of royalty in the music world have collided for a great cause. Queen Bey and the Queen Diva, Big Freedia, have joined on Beyonce’s latest video release, “Formation”. Beyonce surprises the Bey Hive once again with an epic drop of her latest release “Formation”. The music video was put out on Saturday, February 6 via YouTube.
Beyonce adds some real gutta flava on this track with features of bounce artists Big Freedia and Messy Mya. The Bounce Music along with the country girl feel is just righttt! There are multiple cameo’s from Blue Ivy throughout the visual displaying her iconic natural fro that the media tries to downplay so often. Beyonce speaks on the hair type of black women as well as other beauties of the African-American culture in lyrics such as, “I like my baby hair, with baby hair, and afros”. Right in time for Black History Month Bey!
The New Orleans feel is the perfect twist for “Formation” as Beyonce is part Creole, which originates in the state of Louisiana. Beyonce pays major homage to her roots in this track by embracing the culture of New Iberia, Louisiana. Fuse TV star, Big Freedia of TV series Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, speaks with Fuse TV on his experience working with Beyonce,“It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I was beyond honored to work with the original Queen B.”
The message being portrayed behind the lyrics in “Formation” seem to describe the wealthy lifestyle Queen Bey lives as she also addresses the rumors her haters spread about her ‘being a part of the illuminati.’ The bragging of wealth continues throughout “Formation” as Beyonce states, “You just might be a Black Bill Gates in the making, cause I slay, I just might be a Black Bill Gates in the making.”
In case you missed it, last week Big Sean dropped the video of the year with his Play No Games visual. The video pays homage to Martin Lawrence’s 1990′s hit television series Martin. Like guys why couldn’t I think of this! Ha!
Chris Brown plays the role of Cole as he belts out the chorus while an imitation Pam, Tommy and Gina gives the video a more realistic feel. Ty Dolla Sign briefly pops up during the intro and fellow rapper French Montana made a quick cameo as well.
It was nice to see other Martin characters such as Roscoe and Bruh Man come back to life and even nicer to get a quick glimpse of the person who popped up at the very end.
See below to get into the visual and to see Big Sean’s surprise guest:
Last night Jazmine Sullivan stopped through Atlanta, GA and packed out her venue at The Tabernacle. Celebrity friends like Kerii Hilson stopped in to show support. Keri took to her Instagram to say this about the show and their history of friendship:
got goosebumps, shed a tear, & lost my voice…we shared our first ever promo tour together (Russ Parr), & it was encouraging to witness her return after similar experiences…I think I’ve made it clear that I LOVE@jsullivanmusic!
Goosebumps are right! Jazmine sent chills through every fan in the house with her live performance of In Love With Another Man. We have the footage so you can get into that below.
Jazmine’s show was sold out last night. She posted a photo on her Instagram and captioned it:
Jhene Aiko reflects on a near death experience in her latest visual Eternal Sunshine. Jhene floats in front of what appears to be the aftermath of a car crash she had back in 2013 with her daughter, her daughter’s father O’Ryan and her sister Miyoko. Flashback visuals of her brother Miyagi who died of cancer just a year prior to the accident played back in her head as she reminisced on all the good times they shared.
Kendrick Lamar takes us into the hood of Compton in his latest video King Kunta. The video could’ve been a scene out of Boyz In The Hood with its pimped out low riders, LA fitted caps and beautiful women such as Lira Galore and Briana Bette.
Yesterday K. Dot debuted his video on the Jumbatron in New York City’s Times Square. Aside from that great marketing tactic, it appears that his How To Pimp A Butterfly album is still charting No. 1 on Billboard.
Watch Kendrick sit on his the throne in the video below.
Rae Sremmurd had plenty of money to toss around in his latest visual Throw Some Mo’ ft. Nicki Minaj and Young Thug.
Throughout the visual dancers gave the rappers inspiration to throw some mo as they twirled around stripper poles on a L.A. skating rink floor. And when they were finished with the twerk fest that took place in the locker room, the head barb stepped in and stole the show rocking a hot pink Versace fur.
Birdman and Mike Will Made It joined Thugga Thugga in the parking lot towards the end.
Remember that little ballerina that spun around when you would open your jewelry box as a child? Well Ciara has brought baby girl to life in her new break up video I Bet.
Sucks that we’re writing about this. Just a year ago Ciara and Future had become one of our favorite couples. Now the singer is sending her ex fiance a friendly reminder of what he’s missing out on in a series of ballet moves and slow dances. Ciara displays melancholy while draped in a pink tu tu but don’t get it twisted that white leotard is coming with a whole lot of sass!
Well what are you waiting for? Check out Ci Ci’s new visual below.
After nearly a decade Dame Dash and Jay-Z shook hands and re-united back in 2013 during a mutual friend’s birthday celebration. Since then the two were spotted backstage during a Hov concert flicking it up with Dame’s daughter. We assumed that their bromance was still in tact but aparently it isn’t.
Dame stopped by Sway In The Morning and below is what he had to say about his former business partner:
I don’t have a beef with [Jay Z], I never did. We just approach business different.
At this very moment, based of what I read in the paper. This is the one time that the paper did scare me, where I was like, ‘There has to be some truth to it.’ It’s when I read about his affiliation with informants. He’s in business with certain people. It’s tricky for me to say, but based on where I’m from, I can’t have nothing to do with that.
It’s paper work, so it’s not to believe. There’s paper work. That part of it scares me because I know Kareem ‘Biggs’ [Burke] (Roc-A-Fella founder) is in jail. I know Irv Gotti has been harassed for years for sh*t he didn’t do. They’ve been f*cking with me for years. So, it just means I need to stay over here.
I love Jay, but let’s just say, I find out any of that sh*t [is true], I can’t f-ck with him at all. It’s real serious for me. My man’s in jail, for three years, over weed. The feds is really on me. Where I’m from, that sh*t is not tolerated at all.
Why are the Feds on me?
I don’t know why. I’m not making no accusations, but based on where we from, that doesn’t fly.
It’s likely Dame is referring to a past New York Daily News report that said Jay is in business with a woman named Desiree Perez, who is the wife of the mogul’s longtime associate Juan Perez. She’s said to have “major behind-the-scenes influence” at Roc Nation, though she is not officially an employee, officer or agent at the company.
K. Michelle’s friends aren’t the only people stealing these days. HA!
In light of her new album Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart, the singer has been promoting the albums art work which consists of her “big ego” covered in red roses. Although the photos are lovely we can’t quite give the credit for the idea.
LadyyTatyanaa from Instagram is accusing K. Michelle of stealing the concept from a photo shoot that she posted on her page seventeen weeks ago. Here’s what she had to say about it:
It has been brought to my attention that@kmichellemusic copied my picture exactly from 4 months ago to promote her new album. Can someone with some type of legal background tell me if I can do anything from a legal standpoint?
Are you kidding me? And she copied another one of my photos. @kmichellemusic or her photographer straight up copied my whole photoshoot! No originally AT ALL. I refuse to let her make money off of@monhandworks and myself ideas
Oh but there’s more!
Soon folks began tagging Tatyanna under K’s photos on Instagram which led to K blocking her. Hiding something K?
