As if 14 songs and 17 videos wasn’t enough, Beyonce also released a self titled documentary in which she opened up about her new album that nearly crashed iTunes. In the documentary she states, “My message behind this album was finding the beauty behind the imperfection.”

Pretty Hurts is unarguably one of the best songs on the album. The singer dives right into what the trophy symbolizes in the video:

The trophy represents all the sacrifices I made as a kid, all of the time I lost being on the road, in the studios as a child. And I just want to blow that sh-t up. I have a lot of awards and I worked my a– off, probably harder than everybody I know but nothing feels like my child saying “Mommy” no nothing feels like looking in my husbands eyes. Nothing feels like when I’m respected, when I get on the stage and see that I’m changing peoples lives. Those are the things that matters. At this point in my life that’s what I’m striving for.
