Congratulations are in order to newly parents Wale and long term girlfriend Chloe Alexis. The couple birthed their little bundle of joy, Zyla Moon Oluwakemi, yesterday afternoon.
The rapper has always opened up about his personal life in his lyrics. Like on songs such as ‘The Matrimony” where he reminisces on their previous miscarriage. And unfortunately for that reason Wale says that is why he kept the pregnancy a secret this time around.
He took to Instagram with a beautiful message after his babygirl was born.
Check it out below.
Overjoyed . I keep the most important things in my life so far away from people because I’m sensitive . Quite possibly too sensitive to even be in this business nevertheless I spoke on the downward spiral that ensued after complications with my previous child… For that reason I kept this very private as I prayed every day to receive this blessing . Thank You to all my friends so many , Iman/Teyana . Draya and O.Mel and Robyn. Finn Balor Neil Lawi. Bryson, Kehlani WizardEd.. So many ppl that stayed up wit me and talked me thru such a sensitive subject … I named my album SHiNE when I knew my babygirl was on the way …I want to be a better man than I ever been. I’m so flawed I’m so imperfect and the world knows it… I just want to honestly be the best version of myself I can be.. My focus is renewed I’m infinitely in love with my princess and I truly appreciate all the love you have shown her and how understanding many people who knew were .imma keep workin on me and pray to God I can design a young princess who flourishes to an absolute queen .. I got u baby … U go girl .. You are my everything and I’ll see to it we SHiNE my precious Zyla????
Joe Budden is ranting again but it isn’t over petty social media beef. The rapper is focusing in on pertinent issues that are taking place throughout our communities on his new freestyle track Freedom.
At the start of the video you’ll see the heartfelt clip of Philando Castile’s girlfriend crying in the car with her daughter in the backseat saying, “It’s okay I’m right here with you”. The beat drops and the rapper begins to demand freedom over Beyonce’s Freedom record from her new album Lemonade. Mentioning names such as Sandra Bland, Eric Garner and Alton Sterling.
Teyana Taylor did not come to play with us last night!
The 25 year old slayed her Lil’ Kim tribute last night at the Hip Hop Honors. At the beginning of the performance Lil Mama and Dej Loaf did a great job at impersonating The Queen B in some of her most memorable wigs and outfits but in the end it was Teyana who ultimately stole the show.
To make the performance even more appealing, Teyana was accompanied by Bad Boy Records very own and some of Kim’s former label mates such as The Lox and French Montana.
When Teyana found out she was taking part in this tribute she was ecstatic about it. The singer took to her Instagram with an old video of her imitating and dancing to Mo Money Mo Problems in her old Miami condo. Under the video she wrote:
????????????????SHMOOD: when I found out that I will be doing the@lilkimthequeenbee tribute for the#VH1Honors ????????????????????????????????????????????????#LiLKimOneOfMyFavs #TakeThatTakeThat????????????????????????
And it showed. She nailed it!
In case you missed it you can catch the full performance below.
Newly wed Russell Wilson is obviously still on a natural high from his recent wedding day. And although we’re sure the football star and his wifey Ciara created a plethora of special moments that day, Russell has shared his favorite with us.
He told E News:
The best part was watching her walk down the isle. Just to see her face and the long train she had.
And then, Earth Wind and Fire just took the night away.
He expressed the love he has for baby Future but when it comes to having kids of their own it probably won’t be any time soon. He says:
Down the road. Obviously. I love kids, she does too. Ya’ know God willing. As long as they’re healthy, that’s what we pray for. Whether it’s a boy or girl who knows but we have some time for that. She’s making her music right now and I’m playing sports and hosting shows.
Catch it below.
As you may or may not know, Ci Ci and Russell jumped the broom on Tuesday, July 5th at the Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England. Ciara said her I Do’s in a custom made Roberto Cavalli gown. They had over 100 guest in attendance, including Ci Ci’s bestie Jennifer Hudson. Other best friends such as La La and Kelly Rowland were bridesmaids in the wedding.
Contrary to the fact that Rich Homie Quan had Biggie Small fans flared up in outrage last night after his VH1 Hip Hop Honors tribute with Lil Kim, Biggie’s ex-wife Faith Evans is still defending him. After the rapper choked up on stage and forgot the lyrics to Biggie’s verse on Junior Mafia’s 90’s hit Get Money, TMZ reached out to Faith to get her take on it and this is what she had to say:
He needs to bone up on hip hop history.
See more below.
TMZ states, “It started when RHQ rapped “Play Nintendo with Cease and Alamo” … instead of “with Cease and Nino” — and it all went downhill from there.”
Faith says if RHQ had a clue about Junior M.A.F.I.A. members Lil’ Cease and Nino Brown … he wouldn’t have screwed up that lyric.
Still, Biggie’s ex-wife thinks people should let Quan off the hook because everyone makes mistakes.
Well that was really nice of Faith!
Performers make mistakes all the time, don’t act like you’ve never seen the Star Spangled Banner get screwed up! Better luck next time Rich Homie!
