Big Sean Digs A Hole For Himself In New Video Dedicated To His Ex-Girlfriend “Ashley”

Well this was unexpected.

Who knew that night of cheating could turn out to be so dangerous?

Sean finds himself in a world full of trouble in his new video Ashley. In the wee hours of the night while laying next to his mistress, Sean wakes up to a text message and later finds himself beat up, kidnapped and tied to a chair. Sean makes three attempts to escape to freedom but in the end he’ll be forced to dig a hole for himself.

The song was written as a tribute to Sean’s high-school sweetheart Ashley, before he proposed to Glee actress Naya Rivera. Previously, when asked how Naya felt about the song, Sean replied:

My new girlfriend thinks it’s dope. She’s professional, she writes songs and she’s on that show “Glee” so she understands. She has music about her old relationships.

Very mature.

Miguel lent his vocals to the track but doesn’t make an appearance in the video.

Kelly Rowland Flaunts Tatto’d Ring Finger While Shopping At Bergdorfs

Everybody say hayy Ms. Rowland!

Yesterday Kelly Rowland stepped out in NYC for a little shopping. The singer was spotted leaving the Trump Soho hotel in a cute turquoise fur jacket, hawaiian shirt and cargo pants.

We couldn’t help but notice Kelly’s bright red nails and the tattoo that’s placed on her ring finger. The newly engaged singer has had the tattoo for quite some time now. Last year, before she was engaged to Tim Witherspoon, Kelly noted that the tattoo was a representation of she her fiance’s friendship. Awww!

New Video: Meek Mill ft. Jadakiss and Guordan “Heaven Or Hell”

The things we do, just to make it through!

Meek Mill’s Heaven Or Hell video ft. Jadakiss and singer Guordan has been released with some pretty eye opening visuals. In the video Meek takes his fans into the cold streets of Philadelphia where he gives insight on how he struggled to make a better life for himself while others have it hard trying to escape a life of crime and violence. Dreamchaser singer Guordan brings emotion to the hook with lyrics like:

Some ni–as go to college, some ni–as go to jail
Some make it into heaven, some make it into hell
Nobody want to lose, nobody want to fail
Nobody want to die, nobody want to kill
The things we do just to make it through
But nobody want to lose, nobody want to fail
Nobody want to die, we’re just tryna live our life out there

Beyonce Class Being Offered At Rutgers University

Let’s just say we aren’t surprised!

In the past Beyonce has sparked controversy on the subject of black feminism and feminism in general. On her latest album Beyonce, she even has a skit in the middle of her song Flawless, that speaks out on the subject of feminism. You can hear her talk more about that in her documentary here. So what does that have to do with getting a class?

Well we aren’t sure if you know or not but Beyonce as well as Jay- were heavily scrutinized for their Drunk In Love performance that took place at the Grammy’s. A writer at the NY Post even pegged Jay-Z as a poor excuse for a husband because of it.

What do you call a man who stands there smiling and singing as his scantily clad wife straddles a chair and shakes her rear end for other men’s titillation?

I’m certain if I look through enough Jay Z song titles, I’ll come up with the right name for his role in Beyoncé’s performance at the Grammy Awards Sunday night. Rhymes with Goodyear. . . ? Well, how about I just call him a poor excuse for a husband

After all, “he’s made a living singing lyrics that call women ‘bitches’ and ‘hos,’ so we shouldn’t be surprised that he objectified his own wife on stage.

Because of that people are now wondering if Bey is a true feminist or if she’s as big as an artist as she is because of the amount of sex appeal she displays.

The class is being offered by the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies and wil take a look into Beyonce’s videos, and lyrics with readings from black feminists. The students will take a deep look into how the media consumes the American race, gender and sexual politics. The name of the course will be titled, Politicizing Beyonce.

Hov also has a course that is currently being offered at Georgetown University called The Sociology of Hip Hop: The Urban Theodicy of Jay-Z.

Power couple for real.

Would you take the curse?

New Video: Shakira ft. Rihanna “Can’t Remember To Forget You”

photo 1 (77) photo 2 (57) photo 3 (51)

Shakira snatched up Rihanna for her new video Can’t Remember To Forget You.

Throughout the visual, the two singers displayed the ultimate sexiness as they danced and caressed one another’s bodies in their little black leotards. Shakira took on a more innocent role while her accomplice, Rihanna, approached this video with some bad gal spice. Rihanna sings lyrics like:

I go back again fall off the train, LAND IN HIS BED
Repeat yesterday’s mistakes
What I’m trying to say is not to forget
You see only the good,
The way he makes me feel like,
The way he makes me feel
I never seemed to act so stupid
Oh here we go,
HE part of me now HE a part of me
So where he goes I follow, follow, FOLLOW

6 Year Old Preacher Gives K. Michelle Relationship Advice: “You Ain’t Gotta Raise Him, His Mother Gone Raise Him”

photo 1 (76) photo 2 (56) photo 3 (49)

You betta’ preach! Ha!

Recently, singer K. Michelle paid a visit to 6 year old preacher Mir Mir and chile he gave K. Michelle her life in all of 2 minutes. As soon as Mir Mir walked through the door K began asking him for relationship advice. K noted that she’s used to dating basketball players and Mir Mir’s response was that she needs to stay away from them. Then he broke down into preacher mode and described how she’s going to react on the day of her wedding. After stating that he and God are going to worship together once she gets a man, he sealed the deal with an early praise dance. OMG too funny!

The Can’t Raise A Man singer asked, “I ain’t gotta raise him right”? Mir Mir’s response was, “You ain’t gotta raise him, his mother’s gone raise him”.

It’s guaranteed that you’ll laugh after watching this video. Ha!

T.I. Reacts To Divorce Rumors: “Never Gotta Think Twice Bout How I’m Doin”

photo (38)

T.I. just got us all the way together chile.

Yesterday, we posted that the T.I. and Tiny may have separated after getting into a heated debate before the Grammy Awards this past weekend. Others noted that the two were even headed for divorce. Well, T.I. says differently.

Last night the rapper hopped on Instagram and posted the following statement:

… God is great!!!! So I’m gon always be good. No matter how many lies are told. No matter how many stories are told & sold . I AM errrthing I say I AM. Head of MY FAMILY & Leader of MY TEAM!!!!Never gotta think twice bout how I’m doin…..#BetterthanU #trust #Facts #FamilyHustleorDie#hustlegangovererrrrthang

T.I. also released a statement to TMZ where he admitted that a heated argument did take place between he and his wife but they made up the next day. Read it below.

T.I. tells us yeah, there was a big argument, but it was over something pretty stupid.  Tiny wanted to walk the Grammy red carpet and watch the show but T.I. wanted none of it.  He says they angrily challenged each other on who would end up having more fun that night. T.I. says the next morning … they mended fences.

So glad they worked it out.

Macklemore And India Arie Says Kendrick Lamar Was Robbed At The 2014 Grammy’s

Some people feel like Kendrick Lamar was robbed at the 2014 Grammy Awards. Including Macklemore, who won four Grammy’s in categories like Best New Artist, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. Macklemore also walked away with Best Rap Album of the year which is where he felt as though Kendrick was robbed.

After walking away with four Grammy’s Macklemore posted a text message that he sent to Kendrick on Instagram. He wrote:

You got robbed. I wanted you to win. You should have. It’s weird and it sucks that I robbed you. I was going to say that during the speech then the music started playing and I froze. Anyway, you know what it is. Congrats on this year and your music. Appreciate you as an artist and a friend. Much love.

He continued in the caption:

My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved best rap album… I’m honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in that category, he should have won IMO. And that’s taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it’s proper respect.. With that being said, thank you to the fans. You’re the reason we were on that stage tonight. And to play Same Love on that platform was a career highlight. The greatest honor of all. That’s what this is about. Progress and art. Thank you. #grammys

That was huge of Macklemore and he wasn’t the only person who felt Kendrick got robbed.

India Arie took to her Tumblr to express how displeased she was with the Grammy’s. She pinned it, The 2014 Grammy’s: Open Letter From @IndiaArie.

@Kendricklamar WAS robbed, BUT he was not the only one who was robbed. Personally, I was pleased he was able to perform and they KILLED! IT! One of the FEW moving moments of the night for ME.

Though it’s called “Music industries biggest night” the #Grammys are NOT about the music, it’s a popularity contest. The voting process allows people, to vote on name recognition alone – the music industry politics is a whole NUTHER conversation.  Too much to go into here.
The American Music Awards is a show that awards sales and popularity – the #Grammys are SAID to be about the music.
If the hip hop community voted on hip hop –  r&b COMMUNITY the same –  same for each category – we’d see winners that reflect the MUSIC ITSELF. We all know that’s just not the way it goes.
NOW the BIGGER losers, are ALL of black music. Where was the black music community represented in last nights #Grammy show? Performers and Winners (or not) … Where were the black artists?
And this isn’t the first time the #Grammy’s has had a show all but excluding young black America and black artists in general, although we set the worlds musical trends. Why NOT televise the lifetime achievement awards of the Isley Brothers? SURELY they deserved to be on televised stage LAST NIGHT! While other artists were on stage TWICE?
The truth is in a perfect world diversity would matter, and respect would be rampant, but the TRUTH is, The #Grammys is a television show, and in THAT world ratings reign supreme.  So, in general, bigger names take the stage, and sadly the biggest names often times ARE BIGGER drawn along racial lines from the release of an album. i.e. marketing dollars, and just general support.  It’s unfortunate.
I don’t even get surprised any more, but, it still hits my sense of fairness, because I KNOW many of the artists who are overlooked. I LIVE in that world. We keep showing up and subjecting ourselves to the game, hoping MAYBE we’ll win. I was so HAPPY to see @Kendricklamar take that stage – because it is a FORM of winning, at LEAST, he was SEEN.
Speaking of diversity, congratulations to my PERSONAL favorite albums of the year –  @I_GregoryPorter #LiquidSpirit @Realsnarkypuppy and @lalahhathaway on your win and THANK YOU! @pharrell for acting RIGHT in the presence of the greatness that is @Nilerodgers and #StevieWonder
Love to all #SoulBirdsWorldWide
P.S. No mention of Nelson Mandela at ALL? … and THIS is why we NEED the Image Awards AND the BET awards.
Do you feel like Kendrick was robbed?

Back On The Scene: Lauryn Hill And Day 26 Takes The Stage In NYC

Here’s a face we haven’t seen on the scene in a while.

Chile Ms. Lauryn Hill took the stage in her faux fur and harem pants in Huntington, New York last night. Lauryn stood firmly as she belted out her rendition to Stevie Wonder’s I Never Dreamed You Leave In Summer over a live band.

The singer has recorded one song since she was released from prison back in October. Looks like Lauryn might be on the right track again.

Check out her performance from last night below.

Here are some more faces that we haven’t seen in quite some time. Just like Danity Kane, Day 26 has re-united without Diddy after four years. All five members took the stage together at SOB’s in NYC on Sunday night

They performed singles like Got Me Going and Imma Put It On Her. Check them out below.
