Looks like Sanaa may have been taking some tips from Gabrielle Union.
Sanaa Lathan, star of the upcoming movie Best Man Holiday and San Francisco 49ers player Colin Kaepernick had an intimate dinner date last weekend. Random right?
And the 42-year-old actress and 25-year-old baller aren’t hiding it at all! We don’t quite no how long they’ve been “seeing each other” but we do know that they’re not one ounce of shy about it.
When Sanaa posted the pic above of the two bunned up in the restaurant and a caption that read “xoxo”, Colin reposted the pic with a caption that read “this.”
How cute. Although this may have been a couple that the public may have least expected, they are cute together. With Sanaa being one of the baddest actresses in the game and Colin’s cute face and dough cheese I say they make for a potential power couple. Hmmm.
The 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards took place this past Saturday at the Civic Center in Atlanta. Celebrities like Bambi, Meek Mill, Tahiry Tiffany Foxx (Lil Kim’s artist), 2 Chainz, Floyd Mayweather, Tiara Thomas, Rick Ross, Scrappy, Nelly, Kevin Hart, Lil’ Kim and so many more showed loved to the green carpet in their stylish choices of clothing.
The show started at 5 p.m. and was entertaining from start to finish. Snoop Dogg was the host of this year’s show and he made a grand entrance by hopping out of a classic lowrider with crazy hydrolics. The show was interrupted when Snoop decided to smoke REAL weed in his card playing skit. BET wasn’t having it!
Funny moments included Kevin Hart walking out on stage with police officers and jokingly sending people like Rick Ross, Ace Hood, Stevie J and more people to jail for either what they had on or crazy things they have done in public. Like Ace Hood was sent to jail for his watch falling apart at the BET Awards. Ha! Joseline Hernandez also took the stage and shared a few funny moments with us. Gotta love that girl!
The highlight of the night was when Kendrick Lamar appeared in cypher number 5 and dissed every rapper again, just as he did in his Control verse. He rapped, “Ya career ain’t sh-t if it ain’t got Kendrick in it.” Once the cypher airs we are certain that it will stir up some more controversy.
Juvenile and Mannie Fresh also took the stage to perform Back That A– Up. Epic!
Don’t want to spoil the entire show for you guys but if you’re interested knowing who won which award, please follow us on twitter to see.
The show airs on October 15th but for now see more pics of celebrities from the 2013 Hip Hop Awards in the gallery below.
A not in the mood for this Kanye West was pissed when he saw paparazzi in his diveway at 4 a.m. on Friday when he walked outside. Kanye and Kim were apparently headed for the airport which is normally where they get greeted by camera men but not this time. Apparently because Kanye is facing charges from his last run-in with the papz his lawyer told him not to fly out of LAX airport to avoid these type of situations so the two were taking a private jet. Unbeknownst to Yeezy the papz were determined to get a story from Ye so they met him at his doorstep.
As soon as Kanye walked outside the papz began to hound him with camera flashes and questions.
Papz: How’s it going Kanye?
Kanye: Don’t say anything to me, man. Stop asking me questions. You out in front of my house at 4 am, talking ’bout how’s it going. It’s not going good. Y’all out here trying to make money off us. That’s how it’s going. It’s 4 am. It’s 4am and you ask me how it’s going. You know I don’t want you to say nothing to me. You hear what I’m saying? Respect that.”
Kanye: What you mean relax? What you mean relax?
As Kanye walks back to his car he says, ”I’ma change all this.”
When the Papz continued to be persistent on getting some info out of Kanye, the rapper yelled:
Shut the fu-k up. It’s 4am, you blood-sucking mosquito. You want me to be standing out in front of your house at 4am? Pick a profession with some type of respect to it.
Love was definitely in the air when Drake hit up 106 & Park to promote his new Nothing Was The Same album. While there Drake and fellow Toronto native Keshia Chante took a trip down memory lane for the entire 106 & Park audience and viewers.
Keshia started the story off by telling everyone how “thirsty” Drizzy was when they first met on the set of Degrassi. Keisha claimed that Drake registered an account in her name on message board and sent out a message claiming that the two were in a relationship. Drake laughed it off and in the most polite way he began to compliment and flirt with Keshia by telling her how nice she looked and how pretty she is.
When the old photo popped up in the background of the formal couple, Drake stated, “Look at us. We should have some babies, we look good together.” That was right after he brought up the diss record he geared towards her a few years back after their breakup.
Watch it all below.
After all the reminiscing was over with Drizzy helped his ex announce that she will be the new host of 106 & Park. Angela Simmons will not be returning even though we thought she was a great fit for the show. Watch the announcement below.
T.I. is covering the latest issue of Upscale Magazine. Inside, T.I. discusses his fatherly duties as well as the “shift” of his image. The rapper also talks about the success with hit single Blurred Lines and how his former publisher’s loss was his come up. T.I. asked Warner Chapel, who at the time was his publisher, for 7 million dollars and the company rejected him. According to T.I:
They said, ‘Nah, no.’ And I said, ‘Ok, cool’ and we walked away amicably. And now the Robin Thicke record was the number one record in the world and I am the sole publisher because they didn’t want to cash me out. So thank you, Warner Chapel.
Ha! Don’t sleep on him. Check out more of the interview below.
On being known as a daddy and father at this point in his career:
I guess a lot of things I’ve done in my career that I’ve gained attention for I wouldn’t have never really concluded that would’ve been a probable outcome… I guess [being known for being] a husband and a father is better than the guy with the machine guns and silencers.
On turning down a couple million for a record deal:
I get that from The Family Hustle and we’re not even talking managers cut, that’s just me—not Tameka—that’s just what I’m getting. I can get that on my own, I can get that on tour.
On convincing Major to get mic’d up for the show:
Sometimes he just doesn’t like to be fooled with, like, ‘I’m not into it today… I don’t force him to do nothing. I let [the production crew] handle that. For a while Gushers worked. He was like, ‘Ok, I’ll do one scene for a pack of Gushers’ and then the Gushers stopped working. One time they came and said, ‘If you come down we’ll give you five dollars’ and he said, ‘What?! I’ll give you five dollars.’
Ha! Too funny. Major said, “I’ll give you five dollars!”
MMG’s Gifted rapper Wale graces the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Out Magazine. The D.C. native ditched his formal street wear for a suit and tie. In the mag, he talks being a role model, male rappers expression of feelings, and the type of women he’s into.
Check out the details of the interview and pics below.
On being a role model:
I try to lead by example….When I was young, D.C. was the cocaine capital and most violent place in America. For me to go there and then move to suburban Maryland, I was almost like a social outcast. [Being] African [wasn’t] the most popular thing around the early ’90s. Then I was in the detention center from sixth grade to 12th grade. [For me] to make it out of that, anything is possible.
We got a black president. As cliché as that sounds. And it sounds normal now since it’s been about six years, but [there] was a time when it seemed far-fetched. Anything can happen. I think there are way more outlets. Way more. There are way more things going on. You can become a director without even going to art school now. It’s not just trapping and rapping.
On dating an intelligent woman:
Intelligence is something you can’t fake. I’m not even talking about [reading] a thesaurus backwards, it’s like; there is a beauty in common sense. Not even to say that some girls are dumb — but some girls are dumb. It’s because they spend so much of their life trying to have the right look or whatever. Some girls are just really smart. There are girls you can have conversations with, healthy conversations with. Daily conversations with, who you can argue and problem solve with.
On immaturity in music:
I don’t think we’ve grown comfortable [with] talking about feelings all the way, like other genres do. Even like Taylor Swift and them. … Or in R&B, Miguel. Our genre, essentially, is kind of young. It is driven by young people; young African-Americans. Us as a culture — we as a people – aren’t really the best with that. We got egos. Crazy egos. We’re some of the most egotistical people on the planet. I’m going to say it’s a defense mechanism. … It is almost frowned upon to be honest about relationships. Everybody wants you to rap from the perspective of the dude that has 20 girlfriends and can buy her a Bentley; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Looks like the new cast member on Basketball Wives LA is Philadelphia native Sundy Carter. Sundy along with Brandy Maxiell, wife of the Orlando Magic’s Jason Maxiell will be staring on this seasons show. You may have seen Sundy in a couple of episodes of BBW LA last season when she appeared as Jackie’s close friend.
Get the deets on Sundy below.
Some may recall the internet scandal earlier this year in which Sundy or an “alleged hacker” posted a pic of Sundy’s 16-year-old daughter giving oral sex to the daughter’s boyfriend. Supposedly Sundy or the alleged hacker posted the pic as a punishment for her daughter acting out. Hmm… pretty far fetched, right? But it got crazier when Sundy asked her followers to help her in finding her daughter when she was “taken” by her daughter’s boyfriend after the pic was posted. Sundy’s daughter was found the following day.
But this isn’t the only craziness that Sundy’s been involved with. A couple of years back, Sundy bore an illegitimate daughter named Kennedy (pictured with Sundy above) whose father is allegedly NBA player Larry Hughes. Funny, because Larry Hughes has been married to Carrie Hughes for many years now, including when this scandal hit the surface. The married couple have four children and appear to be a happy family.
Sundy has also appeared in a couple of music videos and starred as Beanie Sigel’s girlfriend in the movie State Property. All of the drama surrounding Miss Sundy seems like it will make for an interesting season of BBW LA.
A few of our favorite celebs hit the red carpet for the premiere of Baggage Claim.

The David E. Talbort directed film is in theaters today. Catch of few of the red carpet looks below.
While out promoting her latest fragrance Minajesty, Nicki Minaj stopped by the Ellen Show for a quick chat. For her appearance Nicki Minaj wore an outfit that left host Ellen puzzled and got A LOT of buzz from Nicki’s Barbz.
Nicki’s ensemble for the DAYTIME talk show included high wasted pants, a gold belt and a cropped black jacket. So what’s so shocking about that? Well, for one Nicki chose to go shirtless and bra less underneath and left just one button closed revealing her breasts!
Almost immediately after walking out onto set Ellen looked puzzled and a bit shocked for which Nicki quickly shuts her down telling her, “Don’t start!”
Trying to make light of the revealing outfit, Ellen jokingly offers Nicki a bra for which Nicki quickly shuts that down also when she says she hates wearing bras!
Nicki’s appearance on the show went without a nip slip thankfully, although she wasn’t quite so lucky afterward. Cameras got a shot of Minaj walking through the back lot of the television studio and while in motion, Minaj managed to flash photogs as well. Nicki later posted the below picture on her Instagram with the caption, “Smile bit-h.”
Looks like Nicki is not afraid to flaunt it. What do y’all think of her outfit, was it too much?
Drake has done quite a lot of promoting for his junior album Nothing Was The Same and although the album has already hit stores, the Canadian rap star doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
After appearing on Chelsea Lately just a few days ago, Drake made another stop on his NWTS promo tour the other day at New York’s Hot 97. Drizzy sat down with Angie Martinez to discuss his relationship with the rest of his YMCMB family, his thoughts on Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, working with Jay-z, and much more.
On his relationship with YMCMB:
It’s not about being strained. I’ve become, in this block of years that I’ve been doing this, I’ve become my own man and my own entity. I think that…I’ve formed OVO, I’ve never been the guy that was just like, hanging around for the sake of hanging around. I think it’s just becoming more evident how much I’m not around now because of how busy I’ve gotten. I support Young Money/Cash Money everywhere I go. I talk to Stunna almost every day and Wayne’s a busy guy, but when we see each other and we connect it’s always good vibes. It’s all love.
On Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse:
It just wasn’t real to me. I saw him after that and it was just love, so was that real or was it just for the people? At the same time it’s like, let it be real ’cause those were harsh words. You can’t just say that and then see me like, ‘Hey man, what’s up?,’ pretending like nothing ever happened. That’s not real. To me, that’s not the nature of battling. There’s passion behind it. There’s anger behind it. I personally enjoy making great music and bodies of work over being the talk of Twitter for five days.
On his bond with Jay-Z:
[It’s] one of the strongest, if not the strongest [ with any rapper] … He’s just like an incredible mentor to me
