The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Michael Vick, book signing tour has been cancelled due to life threats against he and his family. His autobiography Finally Free was supposed to be signed by Vick himself at multiple Barnes and Nobles locations including, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Atlanta. Barnes and Nobles facebook page received death threats to Vick and his family such as,
I would go there to slit your throat knowing how you treat animals
Hope your kids don’t fall in a pool with a battery
I would snap your neck if I met you
Mike served 21 months in prison for animal cruelty, he has spoken out at various events against animal cruelty and not to mention he suffered the loss of financial stability during that dark moment in his life. Would you say that he has suffered enough and has paid his debt to society ? In October of 2012 Vick released a statement saying “I understand the strong emotions by some people about our family’s decision to care for a pet.” “As a father, it is important to make sure my children develop a healthy relationship with animals.”
The autobiography that Vick was scheduled to go on book signing tour for was about God and the country that we live in giving us a second chance at life. It’s unfortunate that he wasn’t able to do it. I find it so ironic that people are making such a big deal at the fact that he owns a dog. Vick has paid his debt to society and no one makes a big deal over the individuals who hunt and kill deers, it’s the same thing.
How do you feel ?
